Michael Jackson desired to work with me : A.R.Rahman

Oscar winning music composer A.R.Rahman in a recent interview revealed that Pop king Michael Jackson desired to work with him. Rahman also showered praises on the world's greatest entertainer and perhaps its most enigmatic figure.

"Micheal Jackson is amazing and undoubtedly the last King of Pop. He was a great human being. He called me just a couple of months before his demise, expressing an interest in working with me, but unfortunately that was not to be," said A.R.Rahman.

Ram Charan decides not to celebrate Diwali

Ram Charan, who is riding high after the success of Magadheera has desided not to celebrate Diwali this year. One reason for his decision is said to be the flood fury in the state which claimed many lives.

"I am so devastated by the loss of people and property in the recent floods, that I don't want to celebrate Diwali this year. But I wish everyone a happy and prosperous Diwali. As a child I used to be fascinated with crackers, but over a period of time I have lost interest in them, and never burst them as they cause sound pollution. Festivals are a great reason for family to get together and have some good food," said Ram Charan.

Balakrishna’s Simha for Sankranthi

Surya's much awaited film Ghatikudu is just an another commercial potboiler.

Story:

Ashok(Surya) is a contract killer, who never misses his target. He accepts a contract from Abdul (Mukul Dev) to kill a judge. But he misses the target this time.He promises Abdul that he will kill the judge within 10 days. Some how he enters into the judge house. There he happens to meet Tara(Nayantara). Both of them falls in love. But, Ashok never gives up his mission to kill the judge. Does he succeeds in killing the judge or not forms the rest of the story.

Performance:

Surya excels in his role. He will be seen for the first time in a role with negative shades. Surya in a portion of the movie appears as a 10-year old. His stunts, dialogue delivery, dances and comedy are perfect. He is one of the finest actors in the country.

Nayantara looks fresh in the film. It would have been much better if the director could have tried to avoid her close-up shots. Veteran actress Saroja Devi is back into films after a gap of 12 years. She did justice to her role. Bharath Murali as a judge is impressive. Vadivelu comedy track raises few laughs. Sayaji Shinde and Rahul Dev did a neat job.

Technical Departments:

Music by Harris Jayaraj is good, but not the best from him. Production values of the film are grand. Direction by KS Ravi Kumar is not up to mark. Though presenting Surya as a 10-year old and 4 feet tall boy is something new, it was not executed well. Cinematography is just ordinary.

Analysis:

The film starts on a promising note but fails to carry it till the end. The first half of the film is okay. The second half tests your patience with predictable scenes and weak climax.

Verdict: Watch it if you are one among Surya's fans. Otherwise stay away from it.

Blue Movie Review (Hindi)

When the makers of a film proudly proclaim their product to be at par with their Hollywood counterparts, one is bound to be sceptical. More so because "Blue" is an action film, that too set underwater, which is not just a first in Bollywood but also a rarity in Hollywood.

So does "Blue" set new standards for Bollywood action movies? Does it actually get into the underbelly of the sea and show a world hitherto unexplored? The answer is yes.

Let's put it this way - "Blue" may not be the mind-blowing commercial action thriller that you would have ever seen. However, it certainly is the most innovative attempt that deserves to be acknowledged and lauded.

Action is truly the USP of the film and keeps the momentum going for "Blue" due to which one doesn't quite miss the presence of a solid storyline.

From first till the last frame, it's the amalgamation of action and an unknown world (under the sea) which brings in a novelty factor.

For those hunting for a storyline, "Blue" actually begins and ends at the basic synopsis level. Mr. Richie Rich Akshay Kumar wants a treasure to be explored and entices his employee and friend Sanjay Dutt with tempting offers.

Dutt is reluctant to take that dive into the sea even though his girlfriend Lara Dutta and brother Zayed Khan do present him enough reasons to take the plunge. Eventually he relents and the journey of "Blue" begins. Simple.

There are five key action sequences that keep the pace up for the film. Each of the three bike sequences featuring Zayed become better and better and in fact his introduction a la 'Fast and the Furious' is something unique for an Indian film.

The boxing ring sequence featuring Sanjay and Akshay does hint of "Broken Arrow", though it works in establishing their characters. Most importantly, the entire underwater hunt sequence is a breathtaking affair.

Anthony D'Souza has a strong eye for visuals and that shows. Technically, whether it is camerawork or sound, "Blue" bears an international feel. Whether it's Sanjay or Akshay, the revelation about their past isn't quite hammer strong, even though convincing.

Moreover, even though the film is a multi starrer, one does expect Akshay to be on the forefront. However, for a change, a film featuring him does allow equal screen space for other actors as well.

As for Lara and Katrina Kaif, their presence is required to make the film look good and in that aspect, they do well.

In a nutshell, "Blue" is made for those who want pulsating action, innovative stunts, glamour and some unbelievable moments that defy logic.

It mainly caters to the youth that just want some non stop action in those two hours while keeping James Bond movies in mind.

The kind of films where bikes are meant to race through traffic, cars are meant to explode, women are meant to bring on a glamour quotient, villains are meant to be suave, action is meant to belong to never-seen-before variety and technical aspects are meant to be superior to the best.

'Bendu Appa Rao RMP' Review: Nonstop Humor

EVV Satyanaranaya’s style has got its unique image in Tollywood. ‘Bendu Apparao’ released today on the banner of Suresh Productions; and let us see how far EVV touched his mark.

Story:
Bendu Appa Rao (Allari Naresh) is an RMP doctor in a village. He has a sister who gets troubled by her greedy husband (Krishna Bhagawan). Appa Rao earns money from the villagers by doing various mischief activities, making them his patients for every small reason. He earns money only to quench the greed of his brother in law. On the other hand, Padmapriya (Kamna), the daughter of the rich man in the village Raju (Ahuti Prasad) falls in love with Appa Rao.

The story runs on this track but all of a sudden Appa Rao becomes responsible for a secret sum of Rs 15 lakh. Story takes turn there. A school teacher comes into his life.

What is that Rs 15 lakh? How Appa Rao become responsible? Who is that teacher? All that has to be watched on screen.

Performances:
Allari Naresh:
He is at his best as usual. The entire story runs on his shoulders and he carried that efficiently. Once again he proved that he is the best fit as comedy hero in Tollywood after Rajendra Prasad and Naresh.

Kamna:
She is ok and suited well for the character.

Meghana:
She has a small role as school teacher but oozed the required glamour in a song.

Ahuti Prasad:
He deserves right mention in the film as he spilled several laughs with his typical East Godavari slang

Other artistes Jith Mohan Mitra, LB Sri Ram, Suman Shetty, Uttej, Srinivas Reddy, Kondavalasa, Chalapathi Rao, Telangana Shakuntala, Sreepada Hanuma Sastry etc have justified to their characters.

The backbone of the movie is its dialogue part. Veligonda Sreenivas has penned subtle and humorous dialogues through out the movie. Every 5 minutes in the movie spills a laugh. Although the story is a routine one, the dialogue part made it appealing for contemporary audience.

Analysis:
It’s a nonstop humor treat after a long time. Audiences of all the centers may patronize this film and there will be more edge in B, C centers. The entire movie is filled with East Godavari flavor where almost all top comedians except Brahmanandam, MS Narayana and Sunil are present on screen.

First half of the movie goes with non stop humor while second half has enough sentiment. But in both halves, the comedy part is rightly gelled.

If publicity supports the movie, it may celebrate festival at Box Office.

Bottom Line: Good treat.

Jr NTR's 'Athi Vinayam' With Those 2 Biggies

Young tiger NTR junior has often been known for his gift of gab and though sometimes he went overboard with emotional dialogues, he has managed to make a mark for himself. Now, one of his other traits happens to be the way he carries himself amidst the seniors in the film industry.

It is said that junior is usually polite to all of them but when it comes to two members, he becomes extra polite. They are none other than Dasari Narayana Rao and Mohan Babu. It is said that junior tends to get very obedient and highly submissive in front of these two.

Andala Khazana Ileana is one of the most sought after actresses in the industry. She is known for her sexy looks. The actress has the looks to make any man go weak on his knees. Ileana says that she can carry off any costumes well."I'm the only heroine in the industry who can dress differently and can carry off anything, but I wouldn't say I'm oomphy,"said Ileana.

On speaking about her upcoming film Saleem opposite Manchu Vishnu, she said : "I'm glad YVS Chowdary has trusted me enough to offer me a role again. He directed my debut, Devadasu. But this role is different and the film will be a big hit."

Ileana admits that she's quite comfortable in Tollywood and money doesn't matter for her. "I'm getting offers from other industries too, but I didn't felt the subjects are interesting. Money is not an issue. The directors I've worked with in Tollywood have a vision and have always portrayed me beautifully. I don't want to go to Bollywood for an average commercial film. The film should bring out something in me. I'm waiting for such a role. Moreover, I haven't been offered the kind of roles that I'm getting here in other regional films. That's why I love Tollywood," says Ileana.

Star Night would become a grand success : Balakrishna

Nandamuri Balakrishna spoke to news channel Tv9 on the star night planned by the Movie Artists Association(MAA) to help the flood victims on Novernment 7th .

"I'm following the footsteps of my father(Legendary NTR), who always stood in the front to help the needy. The worst floods has damaged the crops, roads and infrastructure and many others. The flood fury claimed many lives. We can't bring them back alive. What we can do is help people who lost every thing due to the natural calamity," said Balakrishna.

However, Balakrishna went out of track asual. When the reporter asked him, what was his inspiration or the guiding force behind him to take the lead from the front to organize the star night. Balayya said : "Every year heavy rains and flood are causing huge damage. KL Rao and Sir arthur Cotton has designed a plan long back to handle these natural calamities. But, the state governments were not keen on following it.

Balakrishna also stated that the damage due to the unprecedented floods is Rs. 2,000 crores. But, the actual loss is Rs. 12,000 crores(estimated by the state government).

On the question that how will he unite all the stars in different political parties. "All of them had promised to me that they would attend the star night on November 7th. The show would become a grand success," said Balayya

Prabhas donates Rs.10 lakhs to CM relief fund

Young rebel star Prabhas donated Rs.10 lakhs to the CM relief fund towards the flood victims. The cheque was handed over to chief minister K Rosaiah in the secretariat by Krishnam Raju on behalf of Prabhas.

Krishna and Mahesh donates Rs. 30 lakhs to CM relief fund

Superstar Krishna and Prince Mahesh Babu combinely donated Rs.30 lakhs to CM relief fund towards the flood victims. Out of it Rs.20 lakhs were donated by Mahesh Babu and Rs.5 lakhs each by Krishna and Vijaya Nirmala. The cheque has been handed over to Chief Minister Rosaiah in the secretariat on Friday. Vijaya Nirmala and Namrata Shirodkar accompanied the two stars.

Allu Arjun And Ramcharan Insulted Balakrishna

Yuvaratna Nandamuri Balakrishna has been known for his proactive nature and there are those in the industry who say that they fear him since he is known to be a hot blooded man. However, it looks like the young heroes Ramcharan Teja and Allu Arjun don’t seem too fazed by that.

Apparently, Balayya came up with the idea of having a Star Night on November 7th and the proceeds will go to the flood relief fund. Even MAA president Murali Mohan said yes to it. So, the initial meeting for this was held at Jayabheri for discussions.

It seems that Balayya called Charan and Allu Arjun personally to come for the meet. They gave their yes but gave hand in the end by not attending. Many are hoping that they must come for the event at least otherwise it will not look good and will show the groups and differences in the Tollywood circuit.

Ismail Durbar composes music for Vikram-Swathi film

Bollywood music director Ismail Durbar of Devadas fame will be composing music for versatile actor Vikram and colors Swathi starrer film. Selvaraghavan of 7/g Brundavan Colony and Aadavari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule fame is directing the movie. Singanamala Ramesh, who is currently producing Pawan Kalyan starrer Puli and Mahesh Babu starrer Varudu produses this film on Kanakaratna Movies banner. The film is set during the British Rule and will be shot in Ladakh, Mumbai and Pune. This movie is slated to release in the month of May, 2010.

Director thrown out of PUB with....?

The Tamil director Selvaraghavan and his actress wife Sonia Agarwal got separated with some disputes recently.The director Selvaraghavan is moving closer to Andrea, the heroine of his making film "Aayirathil Oruvan".These couples are frequently going to the PUBs after completing shooting for the day.

During one such trip, Raghavan annoyed her by not dancing with her and also not allowing her to dance with others. This furious Andrea complained to the pub management and ask them to sent him out of the pub. The incident got publicity and was published in magazines. Balakrishna Simha shooting in RFC

The regular shooting of Balakrishna's upcoming film Simha is currently going on in Ramoji film city. A song is being canned on Balayya and buxom babe Namitha in RFC. This movie is directed by Boyapati Srinu of Badra and Tulasi fame and produced by Paruchuri Kirti under the banner of United Movies. NBK will be romancing with three heroines for this film. Sneha Ullal and Namitha has been casted opposite Balakrishna for this film. Another heroine is yet to be finalised. Ilayaraja composes music for Three Angels Om Shanti

The legendary Indian music composer and a trendsetter in Indian film music, Ilayaraja, is composing music for a straight telugu film after a long time. The music maestro is composing music for Three Angels Studio upcoming film Om Shanti.

We are aware that Seshu Priyanka Chalasani(D/o popular film maker C Ashwini Dutt) has launched a new production house Three Angels Studio and Baanam was the first venture from this prestigious banner which got released recently. Baanam got rave review for the genuine attempt by the whole team to make a honest film.

Fact Sheet: Rivals witch-hunting Ponnala

Now that his godfather Y S Rajasekhara Reddy is no more, Minister for Major Irrigation Ponnala Lakshmaiah is under attack from all sides, not only from the opposition parties, but also from within the Congress.

While Ponnala was admitted to hospital with complaints of dengue fever, his rivals stepped up attack on him for alleged indifferent attitude when unprecedented floods wreaked havoc in Mahbubnagar, Kurnool, Krishna and Guntur districts. However, sources close to the minister say he was indeed suffering from dengue fever and was in a helpless condition. “In spite of his sickness, he monitored flood releases from time to time, giving instructions to the department people,” they said.

He has two groups in Warangal Congress: one led by minister for women and child welfare Konda Surekha and her MLC-husband Konda Murali, who are trying to take the district Congres under control; another group led by Bhupalpalli MLA and DCC president G Venkataramana Reddy. Both the groups are of the view that Ponnala had made huge money through irrigation project contracts; and that they had no such chance. Now that YSR is not there, they are trying to run him down, sources say.

Jr.NTR car driver arrested by police

Jr.NTR's car driver has been arrested on Yesterday by the Mothi police on charge of rash driving which led to the accident.

We are aware Jr.NTR, popular Telugu film actor and star campaigner of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has suffered multiple injuries after a road accident in March, when he was returning to Hyderabad from Khammam district. The Tata Safari vehicle in which he was travelling overturned near Mothe village in Nalgonda district. He was driving the vehicle.

He suffered injuries on head, shoulder and elbow and has been shifted to the KIMS in Secunderabad. Two people accompanying him were also injured. They have been identified as actor Rajiv Kanakala, who was sitting beside Junior NTR, and junior artist Srinivas Reddy, who was on the rear seat.

"Apparently, Jr.NTR could not see the turn and suddenly applied the brakes leading to the accident," Nalgonda District Superintendent of Police B. Srinivas told reporters at that time.

But, surprisingly S.Uday Kumar (45), the driver of the Jr.NTR vehicle was arrested and produced in the court. It was Jr.NTR, who is in the driver seat on that fateful day. These were the incidents that one can't rule out the truth in popular saying: "Money Makes Many Things".

Kalamandir Kalyan Follows Jr NTR

Many may not know him but the ladies will definitely do. He is Kalamandir Kalyan and he owns the famous Kalamandir Saree showroom which has got the choicest of sarees for the women folk and that too at reasonable prices. But now, Kalyan is making news for another reason.

Apparently, he had roped in Chandrababu Naidu to wave the flag for the vehicles carrying the clothes for donation to the flood victims of one area. Later on, Kalyan invited CM Rosiah for the same for another area. Many are now comparing him to junior NTR.

The reason being NTR gave Rs 20 lakhs each to CM’s relief fund and TDP relief fund and that way he has kept good terms with both parties. Now, with Kalyan doing something very similar, the talk among the people is that he is also trying to balance between both parties and taking the path of NTR junior.

He is none other than Posani Krishnamurali and this time, he is said to have tried one of his perverted acts that didn’t work out.

Apparently, he attempted a rather embarrassing and perverted act with the seductive Satya Krishna in the film ‘Mental Krishna’ by lifting sari up to knees and caressing legs, hugging tight from back, touching the borders of bosoms etc. as expected, the response from the audience was very harsh for the film.

Now, the buzz is that Posani had attempted something very similar with the fair fleshy beauty Arthi Agarwal in his upcoming venture ‘Gentleman’. But Arthi is said to have negated his moves and made it clear that she won’t do it. Industry folks hope that Posani learns at least now.

Shruthi Haasan, the beautiful and multi-talented daughter of Legendary Kamal Haasan is all set to pair opposite Siddharth in his upcoming film. Veteran director K Raghavendra Rao's son Prakash, who has earlier directed the National award winning film Belly Full of Dreams will be directing this movie. Mickey J Meyer composes music. This movie is a socio-fantasy film. The regular shooting of the film would be commencing from October 21st.

Mohan Babu came down heavily on actor-turned-politician and PRP chief Chiranjeevi for his comments on him.

"I will not make comments on anyone indirectly. I'm not a coward to do that. I had the courage to speak on anything and about anyone directly by mentioning their names. I'm happy and I appreciate him, for his comments on me that I'am good at dialogues. Chiranjeevi is a good dancer and Ilike his dances. I didn't speak anything about Chiranjeevi in the pressmeet at Jayabheri club on Yesterday. And there is no need for him to tell me how should I behave. He even don't know the meaning of MLA. He should watch Assembly Rowdy and should understand how a MLA should be,"said Mohan Babu.

War of Words between Chiru and Mohan Babu

Tollywood seems to be heading for a split. The ongoing developments are an indication to this. There seems to be no end for the verbal war between the stars.

Movie Artists Association (MAA) has come forward to raise funds for the flood victims and planned a star night on 7th November at Gachibowli stadium. A pressmeet was held at Jayabheri club on Yesterday by the MAA to announce its future course of action.

Mohan Babu while speaking in the pressmeet said that : "I think Balakrishna had given information about this meet to everyone. Those people who didn't attend this meet should not be pardoned. I hope that they would attend the star night on November 7th."

However, the comments made by Mohan Babu gives an impression that he took the initiative for a verbal war with Chiru.

PRP chief Chiranjeevi reacted strongly on the comments made by Mohanbabu."Mohanbabu is a good speaker. He started speaking now on the flood fury. But, I had already into action and I'm doing every possible thing I can. Actions speak more than words," said Chiru.

"ANR, Nagarjuna, Krishna, Mahesh Babu and some others too has not attended the meet. But, why they are targetting me in particular. I am actively taking part in the relief operations. I toured all the flood-hit areas in the state. Ram Charan donated Rs.10 lakhs, Allu Arjun donated Rs.5 lakhs and Allu Aravind donated Rs.10 lakhs to the CM flood relief fund. PRP too has contributed a lot towards to the flood relief operations," he added.

Chiru also questioned why he should not be pardoned on reacting to Mohan Babu's comments.
