Nagarjuna's KEDI Movie Releasing On 2010 Sankranthikedi

The much anticipated film Nagarjuna’s ‘Kedi’ which was supposed to release on January 7th, 2010, is postponed by a week. According to sources the film will be releasing on January 14th, i.e., for Sankranthi. This decision has been taken due to protests by pro as well as anti Telangana agitations. The makers believe that the issue would be solved by then and people would return to their normal life. Nag is playing the con and sharing screen with Mamta Mohandas. Directed by a debutant Kiran, ‘Kedi’ is produced by D Siva Prasad Reddy under Sri Kamakshi Kala Movies banner which is going to celebrate its Silver Jubilee in 2010.

Adhurs May release on January 5

Salman-Aishwarya face off!

Finally the face off has happened. According to tabloid reports, Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan came face to face at a Mumbai studio in the recent past.

While Salman was shooting for Veer, Aishwarya was busy with Guzaarish in another part of the studio. Sources say Salman stepped out from his car and was happily talking on the phone till he spotted Ash getting out of her van.

Apparently both froze and looked into each other’s eye for a moment. Aishwarya immediately went back into her van, but Salman’s discomfort was for visible.

‘Om Shanti’ all set to release on January 13

In this urbane lifestyle where everything moves very fast and competition is everywhere, each person has his/her own mind-set and nature. In a contemporary society, the dynamics when five people with different mind-set join forces after an incident has to be very volatile.

What is this incident that occurred in their lives to change it forever is what remains to be seen on the screen in ‘Om Shanti’ a film directed by Prakash. The film features Kajal, Navadeep, Nikhil, Aditi Sarma and Bindu Madhavi in the lead roles. Seshu Priyanka Chalasani is producing the film.

Director Prakash says, “There will be five stories, five lives but one truth. What is the truth, has to be seen on the screen. My story impressed producer Aswanidutt, so he gave me an opportunity to mould it on celluloid. The tunes scored by Ilaiyaraaja would be an asset and highlight of the film. We are making efforts to release the film on January 13.”

My Name Is Khan is the best: Shahrukh Khan

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan has belted out many blockbusters but he claimed that the best of him is yet to come. He thinks that his upcoming release My Name Is Khan is his best film ever.Shahrukh said at the unveiling of My Name Is Khan’s first look that it is the nicest love story he has ever worked in. He added that the film is the physical and emotional journey that the two characters Rizwan (himself) and Mandira (Kajol) go through to find love.

It has been reported that the film deals with terrorism and explores the sudden change in the lives of the protagonists but Shahrukh chose to differ. He said that it is not about terrorism but about love, hope, humanity, sacrifice and positivity. He added that it has nothing to do with religion.He is all praise for his friend and filmmaker Karan Johar. He said that Karan is an intense director with great sense of humour, who allowed him to improve his performance through mistakes. He added that Kajol, Karan and he don’t have to say things to each other, as they are thorough professional who understands each other completely.

Shahrukh plays an autistic man mistaken for a terrorist in My Name Is Khan. It brings together the incredible screen pair Shahrukh and Kajol after eight long years. The makers of the film are planning to release it on February 12, 2010..

Nayantara flexible for friends

It is not known how long stardom would remain as heroines in the film industry. The present generation heroines are following the popular maxim ‘Make the hay while the sun shines’ and cashing in on every opportunity that comes in their way. They are keeping themselves busy in one language or the other.

Nayantara is the best example for this. She earned a good craze both in Telugu and Tamil languages. Though she is playing heroine on one hand, she is also giving green signal for item numbers. Sometime ago, she did an item number for Sivaji. Again she played in Kuselan. Presently she is playing one among the three heroines in Simha opposite Balakrishna. She is not rigid that she would do only heroine’s roles but she remained flexible for the sake of her friends and well-wishers in the film industry and changing her rules accordingly.

Performance:

Sam Worthington: Sam Worthington is pretty much perfect for the part he plays. He narrates a good part of the movie and has a voice with a bit of an attitude — yet still calming — that was needed to fit the bill.

Stephen Lang: who plays the tough-as-nails Colonel Miles Quaritch. If I were to picture in my mind the type of person who should have played Colonel Quaritch, it would be Stephen Lang.
Giovanni Ribisi: I found Giovanni Ribisi to be an odd choice to play the corporate weasel heading up the project. He just seemed a bit young for the part.

Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and Michelle Rodriguez all did a fine job but none of them were called upon to go over and above what you might expect from them. I had totally forgot CCH Pounder was in the cast and when I saw her name in the final credits, I still couldn’t picture her in the movie. I’ll have to look out for that the next time I see it.

Drawbacks:
There are some minor quibbles to be had here, especially in the film's opening moments as characters are laying out the premise. A voiceover might have worked better than awkward dialogue. And a Na'vi group prayer-chant thing veers too close to feeling like a bad "Matrix" moment.
Analysis:

Writing negative movie reviews is easy. Writing positive movie reviews is hard. Which means writing a review of "Avatar" is going to be really, really hard. Because James Cameron's alien world epic "Avatar" may well be the future of movies, it might change everything and it sure as heck raises the bar by at least 10 feet.

It is a dazzling spectacle that makes virtually all other special-effects blockbusters seem like awkward toddlers. In imagination, vision and execution suddenly every other action film looks like it was drawn with crayons.

Beyond that, though, it's also a rock-solid space yarn, revisiting themes -- man vs. nature, our self-destructive instincts, corporate malfeasance -- that Cameron explored in his sci-fi classics "The Terminator," "Aliens" and "Terminator 2: Judgment Day."

Dev's Verdict:

As I just mentioned, the story is decent, but it wasn’t exceptional. The characters are okay but besides Sam Worthington’s Sully, no one was very remarkable. Where this movie is head and shoulders above anything I have ever seen is in the special effects and in the imagination that it took to put it all together. For that, I have to tip my hat to James Cameron and friends. They really did some remarkable work on this film that should impress millions of movie fans around the world.

Verdict: Avatar is truly a master piece of filmmaking, a step ahead in visual effects that sets new standards. A must-watch film.

Shruthi Hassan’s new year in New York

Arundathi returns as ‘Panchakshari’

After Arundathi, Anushka is playing in another lead role in a female oriented film, titled as ‘Panchakshari’. This film will be directed by Samudra. Chandra, nag’s personal makeup man is going to produce the film.

According to the schedule, the film is going to start from 17th. But due to the Political crisis, it is to start its regular shooting from 21st of this month.

The film shooting is expected to be completed by the end of March and the film will be released in the 2nd week of April 2010.

Allu Arjun Varudu At Ramoji Film City

Allu Arjun’s on going film ‘Varudu’ would be shooting its last schedule from December 18th at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. The movie is directed by Guna Sekhar and produced by DVV Danayya under Universal Media banner. The post production works are simultaneously being done. Right now the unit is busy with dubbing process.

Director Guna Sekhar informed, “The shooting has reached its final stage. Only two songs are to be picturised. There are altogether six songs in ‘Varudu’ and all were written by Veturi Sundarramamurthy, especially he wrote a marriage song with great efforts. Mani Sharma composed tunes for his lyrics.”

Describing about artists’ performances Gunasekhar said, “The main highlights of the film are All Arjun performance and Arya’s characterization in negative shade. There is also a surprise to the audience by veteran director Singeetham Srinivas Rao, who is portraying a special role. We are introducing a new face as heroine. The film being made with high technical values will be released on March 26 and I am sure it will definitely reach the audience’s expectations.”

Ranbir and Katrina are in love

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have taken their so-called friendship to the next level. The two bonded instantly when they first met on the sets of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani last year. And later on the sets of Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti.

My Name Is Khan’not about terrorism

Putting speculations to rest, director-producer Karan Johar said that his forthcoming film My Name Is Khan, that has Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in main leads, has nothing to do with terrorism.

"My Name is Khan has nothing to do with terrorism. It is not a terrorism-based plot at all. It is a humanitarian tale about love and sacrifice," Karan told reporters after unveiling the first look of My Name Is Khan at JW Marriot Hotel.

The film’s story revolves around Rizwan Khan (Shah Rukh) who suffers from Asperger syndrome, a form of autism. Rizwan falls in love with a single mother Mandira (Kajol) who lives in San Francisco. Rizwan is detained by authorities at Los Angeles International Airport, mistaking his disability for "suspicious" behaviour.

"It is about overcoming a phase, it is about triumph of the human spirit," said Karan.

Shah Rukh and Karan’s last outing together Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) couldn’t spell magic at the box office.

But the superstar seems to be pretty impressed with Karan’s work in My Name Is Khan and said that the film is the ultimate evolution of the director’s work.

"I have worked with Karan in his first film (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) and has been with him all through his journey. I think ’My Name Is Khan’ is his ultimate evolution," said Shah Rukh.

"In this film, the way Karan has touched upon the scenes and sequences, it is very different from his all previous films," he added.

Nagarjuna and Mamta Mohandas starrer ‘Kedi’ was slated to hit the screens on January 7th. However, the latest news is that the film’s release has been postponed by a week and it’s gearing up for its release on January 14th. It is believed that the protests and anger would calm down and subdued to a great extent during the Festival season across the state. And the producers of ‘Kedi’ concluded that the openings for their movie would be strong during the festive season. The agreements with the exhibitors are being redrafted accordingly. Kiran is making his debut as a director with this film. D Siva Prasad Reddy is producing this movie under the Kamakshi Kala Movies banner. Sarvesh Murari is the Cinematographer and Sandeep Chowta is the music director. Kiran has also written the story, dialogues and screenplay for the film apart from directing it. The film is said to be revolving around the theme of Cards and Nagarjuna plays the role of a con.

Top Telugu Movies Not To Be Released In this December -Producers Council Announced!...

There will be no more new releases in December. That is what Tollywood producers proposed today at an urgent meeting convened at Film Chamber of Commerce in Hyderabad in the wake of disruption of shows of Arya - 2. Producer Shyam Prasad Reddy, Sekhar Babu, Mohan Babu, BVSN Prasad, Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Kodanda Ramireddy and other producers attended the meeting and decided that it is better not to release movies this month till the problem in Andhra Pradesh resolves.

That means Vamsi's Adhurs, Kodanda's Kaasko, Sekhar Kammula's Leader and other scheudled movies won't be hitting the screens.

They also going to appeal to the people that Tollywood has nothing to do with politics and films should not be mixed with politics. Sources say all the members from 24 Crafts belonging to Tollywood may meet tomorrow (Dec 16).

Aamir Khan turns Ganguly fan

In a new stunt to promote 3 Idiots, Aamir Khan dressed up as a young fan of former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly and tried to barge into his house here.

Sporting a black shirt, moppy hair and tattoos, with a bag slung over his shoulder, Aamir looked like any star-struck fan as he tried to enter the Ganguly’s south Kolkata residence.

Talking with a protruding chin, he kept pestering the security guard at the gate saying, "Dada ghar pe hain? Mere ko dada se milna hai, photo khichana hai. (Is Dada at home? I want to meet him and get a photo clicked with him). The guard failed to recognise the star and did not let him enter the premises.

But later in the day, Aamir dropped his disguise and finally entered Ganguly’s house and joined his family for dinner along with wife Kiran Rao, who is a huge fan of the cricketer.

The couple was welcomed by Ganguly’s wife Dona, who had just returned from a dance performance, his mother and daughter Sana.

Aamir looked at all the photographs and trophies and in the house and remarked that the 37-year-old cricketer shouldn’t have retired so soon and that he was personally disappointed with the retirement.

Ganguly will read out the fourth clue among the seven, the first of which was read out by another star cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.(PTI)

Hari Krishnas stand to spell trouble for Adhurs

Actor Hari Krishna's reported stand on Samaikhya Andhra has caused troubles to Adhurs, the forthcoming film of his son Junior NTR. As the father is associated with the Telugu Desam Party, whose stand goes against the Telangana statehood, the agitators here might target Adhurs, releasing in the next week.

With news trickling in that Hari Kirshna is supportive of TDP's commitment to United Andhra, the film of his son will find it difficult to see easy release in the region. Also, the young star of the film had campaigned for TDP in March and April, and the people view him as a TD loyalist.

Sources say that like Arya2, Adhurs will be a victim of the political turmoil in Andhra Pradesh.

“Last evening Shah Rukh Khan was the special guest at the screening of James Cameron’s, Avatar at a suburban multiplex.

Shah Rukh was so enamoured after watching half the film, that he came out of hall and went up to the studio officials and requested them to organise a special screening for his two children and family members. The officials of the studio immediately assured him that they will do the needful.

A source said, "SRK has always been quite fond of science fiction and superhero films. Even as a child, he would always watch similar kind of films.This is why he immediately agreed to attend the special screening of Avatar.

‘Adhurs’ also to be banned in Telangana

As per the sources Adhurs is slated to release on December 25 but this movie lands in trouble. On Wednesday, Joint Action Committee of Telangana Students announced that they would also be boycotting the film and also prevents people from watching it in Nizam area. Incensed by remarks made by NTR’s father Nandamuri Harikrishna in New Delhi against the formation of Telangana separate state, the JAC members made a statement that Adhurs too would be banned in Nizam. Presently Arya-2 and Maghadeera movies are banned in most of the theaters in Telangana area. Due to the situations in AP producers are worrying to release the movies.

Love Aaj Kal bags 15 nominations

Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Love Aaj Kal has bagged 15 nominations for the 5th Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild Awards to be held here Jan 8 next year.

Love Aaj Kal has been nominated for awards in various categories, including best film, best director (Imtiaz Ali), Best Actor in a leading role (Saif), Best Actress in a leading role (Deepika), Best Female Singer, Best Male Singer, et al.

The film is about the essence of love that never changes despite time and space difference. It raked in Rs 8 crore (Rs 80 million) on its opening day.

A total of 24 films have been nominated in various categories, including Kaminey, Wake Up Sid, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Ghajini for the Apsara awards.

‘Kedi’ audio release on 25th?

Nagarjuna’s upcoming movie "Kedi" audio is expected to release on 25th of December. The movie earlier was said to release on 9th Jan 2010. The film ids directed by debuting director Kiran and produced by Shivaprasad Reddy.

Nag is pairing with young beauty Mamatha Mohandas. The official confirmation is needed as the political crisis is prevailing in the state.

‘Namo Venkatesa’ made of Rs.24.75 crores!

Venkatesh is setting all new records with his budget also. Namo Venkatesa is going to be his highest budget movie with whooping 24.75 crores. Srinu Vytla is directing the movie. Bramhanandam has done a full length role in this film.

Due to the PRP approach towards Andhra Pradesh, protesters of Seperate Telangana have demolished the cutouts of Arya-2 movie and said that they would stop screening of chiranjeevi family members films.

The Arya fans have grouped in tens and stopped Arya-2 movie show running. The Police have entered the arena and shattered the crowd there. While the students union threatened that they will ban chiranjeevi family movies.

The flash news is that the theaters in warangal have stopped playing Arya-2 and Magadheera movies in Warangal.

Adurs releases on 25th December

Jr NTR’s most-awaited film "Adurs" movie release finalized by Producer Vamsi. This is going to release on 25th, Which also marks the Christmas festival and a long weekend ahead. It is going to be Jr. NTR’s first film in Dual role.

The film is going to release in more than 1000 centres through out the world. At present, post-production(DI) work is in progress, which will be over by this weekend.Nayanathara and sheela are acting opposite to NTR.

On the other hand Director VV Vinayakhas offered prayers at Ameer Peer Dargha on 15th December for the successes of the film.

Naga Chaitanya second film release date postponed

Naga Chaitanya is doing his second film in the direction of Gowtham Menon, and it has been titled Nuvvemi Maaya Chesaavo Gaani. . Earlier Naato Raa was considered for the film but sources told us that finally Gowtham has chosen this film that stars newcomer Samantha as heroine.
